A new lane closure was announced Friday for the FortisBC project that has been upgrading gas lines in Burnaby for more than a year.

There will be a small lane closure on Lougheed Highway near the Rosser Avenue intersection starting as early as Saturda.

Crews are finishing work on the new line in the area ahead of it going into operation. One westbound lane will be kept open and eastbound traffic is unaffected. Access to side streets and the pedestrian crosswalk will be kept open during this work, which is expected to take up to two weeks.

Crews expect to reopen all lanes around the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Springer Avenue early next week, weather dependent. This includes work to the east at the Holdom Avenue intersection.
