Following seven sold out shows in Burnaby, Jokers Canada will be back to the Rec Room at the Amazing Brentwood on Sunday, March 26, to stir up some laughter.
As with the previous shows, the Rec Room in Burnaby and Jokers Canada have partnered up to create a stand-up showcase featuring touring headliners and some of B.C.’s best comedians.
According to Aaron Arya, comedian and the founder of Jokers Canada, a variety of comedians with different backgrounds and experience levels are expected to deliver a night of entertainment and laughter with “something for everyone” at the 19-and-over event.
The Sunday pro stand-up show will feature accomplished co-headliners, Ed Hill and Kwasi Thomas, who are known for their Amazon Prime, Netflix and Just For Laughs (JFL) gigs.
Hill and Thomas will deliver acts with different styles, offering different perspectives to the audience as co-headliners, Arya said. “They complement each other…It's funny, when I booked them, I wasn't sure they knew each other but Kwasi is one of (Hill's) closest friends.”
Arya said that the special night will be MC’d by one of Canada’s funniest, Chris Griffin, who was once voted best touring comic. Guests will also be able to enjoy some featured acts by local talents like Ty Boissonnault, Nancy Ho, Rory Dunn and Kelsey Hamilton.
“We love our shows in Burnaby and hope to grow our footprint there,” he added. He said the shows wouldn’t be a success without the whole team at the Rec Room as well as the continued support from the Burnaby community.
Tickets can be purchased here; they sell out fast and guests are encouraged to purchase tickets as early as possible to catch the special show and enjoy a full night out with food, drinks, and games.
