Root vegetable
Wondering what to do with your fall root vegetables? Burnaby Food First is hosting free workshops on how to make healthy snack and meals from seasonal produce.

Burnaby Food First is hosting two free community workshops next week, teaching the public how to make the most of their seasonal harvest.

The first workshop is on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the Pioneer Community Resource Centre, at 4535 Kingsway. Maya Thau-Eleff will teach participants how to make healthy and tasty weeknight meals.

The second workshop is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 26, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the Brentwood Community Resource Centre, at 2055 Rosser Ave. Since parking is limited, participants are asked to bike or take transit.

This session features Meghan Cooke, who will demonstrate how to make healthy snacks from root vegetables.

Both workshops are free and hands-on, and participants are asked to bring their own aprons.

Register by emailing [email protected] or call 604-209-2404.
