While COVID-19 has put the annual Battle of the Badges hockey game on pause this year, it didn’t prevent members of Delta police, Delta fire and Mayor George Harvie from coming together to recognize the importance of Pink Shirt Day on Feb. 24. to raise the awareness of bullying and standing collectively against it.

The City of Delta, Delta Police, Delta Fire, and Delta School District have worked in partnership to present a special video created for Delta students and the community in celebration of Pink Shirt Day.

The focus of the 2021 Pink Shirt campaign is working together and treating others with dignity and respect and to raise awareness of bullying and to encourage people to help one another and stand collectively against bullying.

“It is time for us to put a stop to bullying, and instead focus on lifting each other up,” said the City of Delta in a news release. “It's been a year like no other, so we all need to carry the message of kindness and support each other through 2021.
