Re: Burnaby votes to raise taxes; posts $139 million surplus, NOW News

The City of Burnaby should absolutely provide taxpayers a tax break after posting a surplus during 2020 and the bulk of COVID-19.

The reality is that cities, the province and the federal government keep pounding the taxpayer for more and more to pay spiralling union wages and expand a never-ending list of programs and social schemes.

Just like taxpayers, governments need to live within their means and control their spending. There is simply no common sense amongst left-leaning governments to control spending in any meaningful way and I hope that taxpayers wake-up to this perilous situation.
