SOLO SALES START THIS WEEKEND

Homes at the Solo District - the future location of Whole Foods in Burnaby - go on sale as of Saturday.

Prices for units start in the low $200,000s, according to an email from marketing and event consultant Connor Barnsley.

"These homes will sell out extremely quickly, however, Jim Bosa is offering the first 30 buyers the chance to receive between $5,000 and $10,000 off their purchase," he wrote.

Phase 1 of the project is a 45-storey residential tower, with retail space, including space for Whole Foods. That phase of the project is expected to be completed in January 2015.

The plans also include space for a pharmacy, shop or restaurant, and a bank in Phase 2.

The last phase of the project - a 43-storey residential, commercial and office tower - is expected to begin construction in winter 2014.

Plans for Solo include space for a pedestrianfriendly high street for shopping, to be known as Sumas Street, in the centre of the development.
