The woman behind a local business success story will be in Burnaby this weekend as part of a special event at the Chapters Indigo store in Metropolis at Metrotown.
Elaine Tan Comeau, a Burnaby school teacher and Maple Ridge resident, will be at the Chapters as Author of the Day, from 2 to 4 p.m., to promote her Easy Daysies product.
Easy Daysies is a magnetic visual organizer for children to help them see and know what's coming next in their day - for example, morning tasks might include brushing teeth or packing lunch.
Comeau got a boost in bringing her invention to a bigger market after appearing on Dragon's Den last year.
The elementary school teacher used a similar visual organizer in her classroom and, for many years, made them for her students by request. After hearing from parents how useful it was, she decided to try to build a business with the concept.
