Man attacked near Edmonds SkyTrain

Burnaby RCMP are investigating after a man was robbed at knife point near the Edmonds SkyTrain station on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, a 19-year-old Burnaby resident, was walking along the pathway behind the SkyTrain station around 4:50 p.m.

Burnaby RCMP are investigating after a man was robbed at knife point near the Edmonds SkyTrain station on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, a 19-year-old Burnaby resident, was walking along the pathway behind the SkyTrain station around 4:50 p.m. when he was jumped from behind. The suspects, a man and a woman, were carrying a knife and stole the victim’s car keys, Cpl. Daniela Panesar, spokesperson for the Burnaby RCMP, told the NOW.

Panesar couldn’t say whether the victim was walking to or from his car when he was attacked, but the suspects managed to get away with his vehicle, which contained his wallet, cellphone and the victim’s dog.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.

Hi vehicle has since been recovered by Vancouver police. Panesar couldn’t say if the dog has been found yet.

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his early 20s with short black hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants. The female suspect is described as Aboriginal, also in her early 20s with dark brown hair, a nose ring and a heavy build. She was wearing a blue shirt and black pants.
