Joshua Stan from White Rock just won $1 million on the Lotto 6/49.

A White Rock man is celebrating after scoring big on Lotto 6/49.

Joshua Stan has won $1 million after buying a winning ticket for the April 3 draw.

“I was at home. At 1 a.m. I used [PlayNow.com] to check my ticket,” Stan says in a BC Loterry Corp. press release. “The first thought that came to mind was, ‘How am I going to change my life and my family’s life?’”

The first person he told, just after finding out he won, was his mom.

A big football fan, Stan plans on using his winnings to travel to games. He also wants to put some of the money towards a down payment for a home and help his parents.

"It’s going to change my life. This will provide me with support and I’ll be able to take care of those that I love,” he says.

The winning ticket was bought at the Semiahmoo Town Pantry/Chevron gas station on Martin Drive in Surrey.
