Following a recent snowfall warning, high elevation areas of Metro Vancouver received a light dusting of the white stuff overnight on Friday (Dec. 3).

Environment Canada’s snowfall warning is still in effect for much of the region including the City of Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, the North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley, Richmond and Delta. Environment Canada released an update on the snow conditions the morning of Dec. 4.

“Higher terrain and inland locations will have a higher chance to see wet snow this morning. Snowfall amounts will vary from trace to 2-4 cm,” the federal forecaster’s statement reads. “Over Metro Vancouver, western sections and areas near the water are unlikely to see much snow accumulating this morning.”

Another round of snow is possible Sunday night into Monday morning.
