Domestic incident sparks search

Burnaby RCMP are investigating a domestic incident that took place on Monday evening.

Officers were called to a home on 18th Avenue near Canada Way around 9:20 p.m. on June 1 following reports of threats made between a boyfriend and girlfriend, said Burnaby RCMP Staff Sgt. Maj. John Buis.

“The suspect in the incident ran and alluded the police,” Buis said.

Officers were called in to search the area but couldn’t locate the suspect. There were no injuries.

Investigators are still unsure whether or not charges will be laid at this time.

The suspect remains on the loose. He is described as Aboriginal, five feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a T-shirt with a black leather vest, shorts and no shoes.
