"Any movie, any experience, any showtime."

Burnaby's two Cineplex theatres are celebrating National Cinema Day tomorrow (Aug. 27) by offering local residents and families the chance to see current blockbusters for only $4 plus tax.

This is set to apply to all theatres, including the 19+ VIP rooms at The Amazing Brentwood (3106-1920 Willingdon Ave.), as well as films showing in UltraAVX, D-BOX, 4-DX and 3D at Metropolis at Metrotown (4700 Kingsway).

But there's a plot twist.

According to Cineplex, the price will only apply to movie-goers who buy tickets in person at either theatre or online with a CineClub subscription.

Those with a Scene+ membership to the national chain and buy the tickets online will pay $5 plus tax.

If you don't have either of the above subscriptions, online tickets will be $5.50 plus tax.

Movies currently in Burnaby's Cineplex theatres include:

  • Barbie
  • Oppenheimer
  • Blue Beetle
  • Strays
  • The Last Voyage of the Demeter
  • MEG 2: The Trench
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
  • Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning - Part One

For more information and a list of showtimes at both locations, you can visit Cineplex's website.
