Six Burnaby RCMP officers and two Taser shots were needed to subdue a man in Burnaby early Tuesday morning.
According to Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Dave Reid, the incident occurred in the 6500-block of Elgin Avenue just after 2: 30 a.m.
"A young woman called a male friend saying that she needed help," said Reid. "She said there was a naked man sleeping on her couch, who was extremely drunk and possibly on drugs."
The woman then called 911, and when police arrived at the scene, they tried to wake up the man.
"He became extremely aggressive, and we had to employ the Taser on him," said Reid. "That didn't have much effect so we employed the Taser again."
That still didn't slow the naked man down much, so six Burnaby RCMP officers were needed to subdue him. Paramedics sedated the man at the scene before he was taken to Burnaby Hospital, where he was sedated once again.
"We still have no ID on him, and the people who called in (the original incident) have not given us any info either," said Reid. "There were no injuries to anyone else."
Reid said police are still working on the case and trying to identify the man and what led to police being called to the scene.
