Burnaby-Lougheed candidate Jane Shin held a fundraiser at Vancouver's Floata Seafood Restaurant on Tuesday, April 17, and MP Olivia Chow, widow of the late Jack Layton, was an honoured guest.
A man who goes by "Homeless Dave" also attended. The Downtown Eastside resident is on a hunger strike, calling for more social housing in Vancouver. Homeless Dave and a handful of supporters passed out pamphlets in front of the restaurant, raising awareness about the lack of social housing in party platforms.
