New COVID-19 infections in Burnaby drop 15% during latest reporting period

It's another week of good news for Burnaby and its COVID-19 fight.

According to the most recent Geographic Distribution of COVID-19 by Local Health Area of Case Residence, Burnaby recorded 49 cases from Nov. 28 to Dec 4, 2021.

From Nov. 21 to 27, there were 57 infections reported. 

The latest numbers released by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) equate to a 15% drop. 

In other local news, all four Burnaby quadrants have seen decreases in case rates and positivity rates since the last report. 

The updated numbers are for Nov. 30 to Dec. 6, 2021.

Case rates are new cases per 100,000 people by local health area and community health service area.

BURNABY NORTHWEST

  • Vaccination coverage (first dose) of those 12 years of age and older: 96%
  • Vaccination coverage (second dose) of those 12 years of age and older: 94%

BURNABY NORTHEAST

  • Vaccination coverage (first dose) of those 12 years of age and older: 96%

BURNABY SOUTHWEST

  • Positivity rate: 2%

BURNABY SOUTHEAST
