Burnaby city council OK'd the installation of an overhead down-lit crosswalk on Sixth Street at 18th Avenue.
The installation is projected to cost $50,000. Staff conducted a review of the intersection in June and found the pedestrian and traffic volumes increased to a point where a marked, lit crosswalk is needed.
A signal requested by a citizen for Canada Way at Stanley Crescent was not approved.
