New project planned for Royal Oak

A four-storey mixed-use development is being proposed for the Royal Oak area. Burnaby council has agreed to send an application for the development at 5312 and 5352 Grimmer St. to a public hearing on Nov. 29.

Burnaby council has agreed to send an application for the development at 5312 and 5352 Grimmer St. to a public hearing on Nov. 29.

Thind Properties of Vancouver is the developer for the project.

The property would include retail space at grade level, with 73 residential units at grade level and above, according to a report from the director of planning and building, Basil Luksun.

Thind Properties is building another four-storey mixed-use development to the west of the site, and another four-storey mixed-use development is being built to the east.

A public hearing on rezoning the site for the development is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the council chamber at Burnaby City Hall, 4949 Canada Way.
