Question: How long have you lived in Burnaby?

Answer: I actually just moved out in January because Surrey was a lot more affordable, but I lived there pretty much my whole life as long as I can remember, since I was about five or six years old.

Q: Why do you think you are uniquely qualified to represent the riding?

A: Well I went through the educational system, for one, under both the NDP and the Liberals. I grew up there my whole life and I've seen what it was and what it is now and I have a pretty good idea of what it will be in the future. Basically, it's my home. I've seen it grow, I've seen it flourish, so I know the people, I know the riding.

Q: What would be your own personal priority as an MLA?

A: Education for one, that's my top priority. I really believe that Burnaby-Edmonds can be a prime example for how the provincial education system should be and can be. One, because of all of the immigrants and whatnot and the fact that it's so multicultural and diverse, if we can make it work in Burnaby-Edmonds there's no reason why it couldn't work any where else.

Q: What accomplishment in your life are you proudest of?

A: Turning my life around. I was a dropout, and I completely turned my life around. I got working, I've done all sorts of jobs and now I'm enrolled in BCIT to become an aircraft maintenance engineer.

Q: Who, in your life, has been a role model for you?

A: My grandfather was the biggest role model for me. He had a very tough life, he's a survivor, he came here from Poland and he's a very educated man there, and basically re-did everything here and eventually became professor emeritus for the University of Saskatchewan. He's definitely somebody I look up to.
