Knock it down: About 21 firefighters were at the scene of a house fire on Castlewood Crescent shortly after midnight on Tuesday. The fire, a one-alarm blaze, appears to have started outside of the home, possibly in the front yard. All the residents escaped uninjured.

Residents of a home on Castlewood Crescent escaped unscathed when their house caught fire shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

When Burnaby firefighters arrived at the home in the 4100 block of Castlewood Crescent, the residents had all made it outside safely. Flames could be seen jutting from the roof and the front of the house, acting assistant fire chief Gavin Summers told the NOW.

The one-alarm fire was small in size, and firefighters were able to knock it down quickly, Summers added.

About 21 firefighters attended, along with four engines, one ladder truck, a rescue truck and the command vehicle.

The initial investigation indicates the fire started outside of the house, possibly in the front. The cause of the fire, however, is still under investigation, Summers said.
