No injuries reported from apparent targeted shooting in Burnaby

A pickup truck with bullet holes was found when police arrived near Gilmore SkyTrain Station today, Nov. 30, in responding to reports of shots fired.

Burnaby RCMP found a pickup truck with bullet holes near Gilmore SkyTrain Station today, Nov. 30, and are also looking into a vehicle found burning on Burnaby Mountain to see if they're connected.

Burnaby Mounties have closed Dawson Street just east of Gilmore SkyTrain Station to investigate, what appeared to be, a targeted daylight shooting today, Nov. 30.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said no injuries were reported from the incident, which took place at around 12:10 p.m.

Officers discovered a pickup truck with bullet holes at the scene after responding to multiple reports of shots fired in the 4300-block of Dawson Street.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said the road will be blocked off "for quite some time" between Rosser and Madison avenues.

"The incident appears to be targeted," he said in a news release.

Kalanj added police are also looking into a vehicle found burning on Burnaby Mountain is linked to the shooting.

Officers were called to the scene at around 12:30 p.m. in the 8700-block of Maple Grove Crescent, located nearly nine kilometres east where the pickup truck was found.
