The Burnaby pack, which also features a hybrid vehicle, $1.1 million cash and groceries for a year, is one of 10 for the winner of the BC Children's Hospital fundraiser to choose from.

Burnaby has once again been called upon to be part of a life-changing fundraiser — in more ways than one.

The Choices Lottery has officially launched its 2024 campaign in support of the BC Children's Hospital, in which the winner can select either one of 10 prize homes or $2.3 million in tax-free cash.

This includes a Burnaby package worth more than $2.5 million that features a high-rise condo in the Brentwood neighbourhood.

The 845 sq. ft. two-bedroom suite is located in Eclipse Brentwood at 2901-2381 Beta Ave., in which construction is scheduled to be completed this summer, and has two bathrooms, a parking spot and a 106 sq. ft. deck.

But that's not all the grand prize winner could receive should they choose to move to Burnaby.

According to Choices Lottery, the local package also consists of $1.1 million in cash, $50,000 in spending money for furniture, $120,000 in Travel Best Bets gift cards, gas and groceries for a year (valued between $18,500 and $25,000) and a 2024 Mazda CX-90 Plug-in Hybrid.

Proceeds from the fundraiser are set to support on-site research at BC Children's Hospital to fast-track effective treatments and medications.

"As 70 per cent of BC Children’s researchers are also health care professionals providing care in the hospital, life-changing discoveries can be brought from the laboratory bench, straight to a child’s bedside faster and more efficiently," explained Malcolm Berry, president and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, in a news release.

"BC Children’s is ranked among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the world, and our medical teams continue to be leaders in providing specialized, innovative therapies, and leading ground-breaking research."

The foundation added there are currently more than 1,500 members in the hospital's research community working to find cures for children's health.

Other prize homes are located in Vancouver, South Surrey, Langley and Kelowna.

Interested lottery players 19 years and older have until April 12 to purchase a ticket, or until all are sold out. There are officially 345,000 tickets up for grabs.

Choices Lottery also has 51 early bird prizes valued at more than $290,000, including five "luxury trips," a 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ an RV Timber Ridge travel trailer and $200,000 in cash.

There's also a 50/50 PLUS lottery with an estimated jackpot of $2.5 million.
