Photos: Burnaby hosts monster mash-up with first-of-its-kind museum

Canada's first-ever special effects exhibit is putting memorable movie monsters on display at MastersFX in Burnaby until Oct. 31.

Monsters, creatures and intergalactic characters spanning more than four decades of film and television are corralled together in Burnaby for the next two weeks.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, MastersFX opened its doors for Canada's first-ever public collection of special effects, costume, hair and make-up designs.

Monster Museum has welcomed notable figures from Monster HighThe PredatorSix Feet UnderTrue Blood and others to the Metro Vancouver studio.

There are a total of 80 "exquisitely detailed, hand-crafted" exhibits inside the 5,000 sq. ft. facility — located at 4185 Dawson St.

Monster Museum is a ticketed gallery and will be open on the following dates:

  • Oct. 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31
