Mounties are asking people to be on the lookout for a Burnaby woman who went missing last week.
Kathleen MacKeand, 40, was last seen near Metrotown on Sept. 7 around 5:30 p.m. She had been out for dinner with family.
MacKeand's family, who reported her missing to the Burnaby RCMP, hasn't heard from her since then, said Cpl. Dave Reid.
According to police, MacKeand is suffering from depression and is involved in "a high-risk lifestyle that may include drug use and work in the sex-trade."
"Unfortunately, with her lifestyle, she's not particularly serious about contacting family, contacting friends and letting them know where she is," he said.
MacKeand is Caucasian, 5'2" and 100 pounds with shoulder-length red hair and blue eyes. She has flower tattoos on her stomach, and other tattoos on her left leg and right shoulder. She was last seen wearing a white top and black skirt with high heels.
The Burnabt RCMP, with the help of the Vancouver Police Department, are looking for MacKeand in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, Reid told the Burnaby NOW.
"Vancouver is giving us some assistance in that regard but right now we're just trying to follow up some leads and hopefully we can locate her," he said.
