Burnaby RCMP are looking for witnesses after a man was shot several times in the leg outside a local Edmonds Street restaurant April 12.
Police responded to the shooting early Friday morning in the 7600-block of Edmonds Street.
When they arrived on scene, police found a 23-year-old man had been shot several times in his legs.
He was taken to hospital. A press release from the RCMP stated they couldn't comment on his condition.
RCMP have determined the man was one of a group of 10 men gathered on the patio of the restaurant, according to Staff Sgt. Major John Buis.
The shooter is also believed to have been part of the original group.
Police haven't been able to ascertain exactly what happened to spark the shooting and Buis said both the victim and witnesses have been "less than cooperative."
"We're not sure, at this point, what it is," he said. "We're still trying to piece it all together. When people don't talk to you it's very difficult to get answers."
The victim is known to police, but Buis couldn't say if the shooting was gang related.
Burnaby RCMP is asking anyone who may have seen anything to come forward.
