Police dogs help find suspect in Burnaby Metrotown bus loop stabbing

A 43-year-old man was stabbed near the Metrotown bus loop in Burnaby early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the 4500-block of Central Boulevard at 2 a.m., according to an emailed Burnaby RCMP statement.

When officers arrived, they located the injured man, who was sent to hospital in stable condition.

Police said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers conducted "extensive patrols" in the area, according to police.

"With the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service, the suspect, a 29-year-old man, was located and arrested," stated the RCMP email.

The investigation is ongoing.
