Burnaby RCMP is investigating a robbery that took place early Tuesday night at Willingdon Avenue and Bond Street.
The victim - a young female - had her purse snatched by an unknown man while she was walking in the area. Inside the purse was a wallet containing a debit card, her school identification, health card and other important items.
According to Cpl. Dave Reid, the victim chased after the suspect for a while before giving up and calling police.
The victim was uninjured and is expected to speak with RCMP to provide a description of the suspect, Reid said.
Initial online reports of the robbery said the suspect used a fork to threaten the victim, but Reid couldn't confirm or deny this report.
