Police looking for suspect in indecent act at Burnaby park

Incident follows man flashing genitals at same park last month

Police are looking for help finding a man involved in an alleged indecent act at a Burnaby park last week.

On May 5, officers responded to a report of a man committing an indecent act in the trails at Byrne Creek Ravine Park near Southpoint Drive, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.

The man was allegedly seen masturbating in the area at approximately 1:30 p.m., the release said.

In April, police received a report of a man standing off the trail in the same area exposing his genitals.

It's unknown at this time if the two incidents are linked, according to Burnaby RCMP.

“If you witness an incident like this, whether at Byrne Creek Ravine Park or elsewhere, please contact police immediately,” Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release.

The suspect in last week's incident is described as a clean-shaven, white man in his mid-30s with a medium build, dark hair and a bald spot on the top of his head.

Anyone with information about the May 5 incident or the suspect involved is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP general investigations section at 604-646-9868.
