Police search for sex offender

Burnaby RCMP are warning people to be on the lookout for a convicted sex offender who may be in the city. According to RCMP, Ronald Currie Miljure was sentenced to six years in jail for sexually assaulting three prostitutes in the Vancouver area.

According to RCMP, Ronald Currie Miljure was sentenced to six years in jail for sexually assaulting three prostitutes in the Vancouver area.

The 35-yearold, Aboriginal man is 6'3" and 194lbs with a damaged right eye and a scar on his left middle finger. Miljure has four tattoos: including a Celtic cross and koi fish on his left forearm, a Tasmanian devil on his upper left arm, and skulls on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a grey sweater and blue jeans, according to a press release.

"Miljure has serious substance abuse issues - alcohol and crystal meth preferred intoxicants . (and) is at high risk to reoffend," stated the release.

According to Burnaby RCMP, Miljure is a person of interest to the Vancouver Police Department's high risk offender unit.

"There are a number of high-risk offenders that our unit monitors, but other than that there's not much I can share," said Const. Brian Montague, spokesperson for the department.

Anyone who has information about Miljure's whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately and to not approach him under any circumstances.
