Police are looking to identify a suspect who allegedly broke into a Burnaby home but was chased away by people inside.

Police have released a sketch of a man suspected of breaking into a Burnaby townhouse earlier this month while several people were inside.

The incident happened on Nov. 1 at about 11:30 p.m. at a townhouse complex on 18th Avenue in the Edmonds neighbourhood, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.

"The man entered the home through a patio door while several people were home," stated the release. "When a resident heard the man enter and yelled at him, the suspect quickly left."

Nothing was stolen and no weapons were seen, according to police, and there have been no similar reports in the area.

The suspect is described as a tall, thin man between 25 and 35 years old, with dark beard.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9511.
