The case of a Burnaby woman missing since mid-July has now been transferred to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Yating (Lancy) Hu was last seen on Friday, July 15, between 8 and 9 p.m., by her husband.

Hu had been dropped off at her apartment near the Metropolis at Metrotown shopping centre and has not been seen since.

Her husband became worried when she missed several appointments this week and he couldn't contact her to return their two small children after the weekend.

Hu does not have a vehicle and uses public transportation.

"As a result of the investigation to date, there is reason to suspect that foul play is involved in the disappearance of Hu," Sgt. Peter Thiessen said in a press release.

Hu is described as a 27-year-old Asian woman, 5-7 tall, 119 lbs, with shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes and wearing glasses. She speaks both English and Mandarin.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Hu is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
