Ray Power is 64 years old. He has been married to Vale Power for 43 years. The couple resides in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and has for the past 19 years.

Ray retired after 45 years of employment including 25 years in the public service as an RCMP Corporal, court clerk and municipal government manager in security and emergency preparedness. He is a life member of the Burnaby Optimist Club and past president of the Burnaby chapter of the Canadian National Institute of the Blind. The winner of several awards for community service,

Ray has been active in politics for a number of years. He is interested in community safety and is running because he believes his experience can make a difference.

Residents must have their voices heard and in a true democracy, elected officials must have an open mind, he says. Decisions have to be made with proper input in a fair and unbiased manner.
