The Burnaby RCMP is warning the public to avoid an area due to a “firearms related complaint.”

The local police Twitter account, as of around 5 p.m., says the public should avoid the area of Willard Street and Thorne Avenue in South Burnaby due to an ongoing investigation related to firearms.

“No injuries reported so far,” police tweeted. “Several people in custody. Officers still on scene investigating and gathering info. Traffic will be impacted. Please continue to avoid the area.”
