1 Check out Rick Hansen's 25th Anniversary Relay on Friday, May 18, from 4 to 5: 30 p.m. at the Burnaby Village Museum at 6501 Deer Lake Ave. Join the celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the Man In Motion World Tour. Entertainment and celebrations run from 4 to 5 p.m., and official ceremonies are 5 to 5: 30 p.m. For info, call 604-297-4565.

2 Join a park interpreter on Saturday May 19 for a stroll around Burnaby Lake to identify five familiar water birds. Meet at the Burnaby Lake Nature House at 4519 Piper Ave., off Winston Street. The walk is scheduled to run from 10: 30 to 11 a.m.

10: 30 to 11 a.m. 3 If you are 13 to 18 years old and looking for something to do on Friday night, there are three places to check out. Stride Avenue Community School is holding a teen gym night from 8 to 9: 30 p.m. Youth can take part in a wide range of sports and games with their friends. Stride is at 7014 Stride Ave. Info: 604-524-6359. Stoney Creek is also holding a teen gym night, 8 to 9: 30 p.m. at 2740 Beaverbrook Cres. Call Creekside Youth Centre at 604-415-7607 for more info. Bonsor Recreation Complex is also holding a teen night but from 10: 30 p.m. to 12: 30 a.m. They promise safe, free fun. For more information, call 604-297-4497. Bonsor is at 6550 Bonsor Ave.

4 Drop by the farmers' market on Saturday, May 19, starting at 9 a.m. in the Burnaby City Hall parking lot. The market is the place to find locally grown conventional and organic produce, jam, jelly, vinegar, salsa, sauces, baking, honey, maple syrup, tea, eggs, beef, local artisans with pottery, wood work, jewelry, and soap. There is also live music every week, a used book exchange, a children's play area, games table and community tent for non-profit groups.

5 Get your needles out for an afternoon of knitting, crocheting, sewing and other craft activities this Friday, May 18. from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Edmonds Community Centre for 55-plus. The centre is at 7282 Kingsway. Proceeds from donated items handcrafted by the group will benefit the Edmonds Seniors Society.
