SFU's Jessica Wisotzki named to 2022-23 GNAC preseason all-conference squad

Wisotzki averaged 17.3 points per game during 2021-22 season.

Jessica Wisotzki has been named as a player to watch during the upcoming 2022-23 GNAC season. 

The third-year guard and forward is one of 15 players that have been selected to the 2022-23 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team. 

In 2021-22, Wisotzki averaged 17.3 points per game which was third-best in the GNAC and the best on the Red Leafs roster. 

She also led SFU in shooting percentage at 46.8 per cent and .366 per cent from beyond the arc. 

The Red Leafs begin conference play for the season on Dec. 3 in Burnaby against Western Washington.

In the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason women's poll, the Red Leafs have been chosen to finish fifth out of 10 teams behind Central Washington, Montana St. Billings, Alaska Anchorage and Western Washington. 

In 2021-22, the women finished in sixth place in the conference with a 12-14 record overall, while going 8-8 in league play. 

SFU head coach Bruce Langford is returning for his 21st season and will have three starters returning from last year.
