Police are investigating reports of shots fired inside a Burnaby home early Friday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., Burnaby RCMP got a call about gunshots at a residence near Sixth Street and Goodlad Street in the Edmonds area, according to a news release.
“It was reported that two men entered the residence, fired gun shots inside the residence, then fled,” the release said.
Officers attended the area and secured the scene but didn’t find anyone with injuries, according to the release.
Police said the parties involved are known to each other.
Investigators are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or might have information about it to come forward.
“This is not something we want to see in our city,” Burnaby RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release. “However, our investigators do not believe there is any further danger to the public as a result of this targeted attack.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
