Burnaby RCMP responded to a home in the 7000 block of Dunblane Avenue early Wednesday morning after receiving reports of shots fired.

Burnaby RCMP and the K9 unit were out in force early Wednesday morning after someone reported shots fired in the 7000 block of Dunblane Avenue.

Mounties received a call around 5:38 a.m. that shots had been fire on Dunblane Avenue between Imperial and Victory streets, according to Staff Sgt. Maj. John Buis with the Burnaby RCMP.

Buis couldn’t say how many officers responded to the call but because shots had allegedly been fired, it was “appropriately resourced.”

“When we get a call of that nature, we ensure, for the safety of the police officers and the general public, we adequately resource it with enough police officers,” he said.

Six people were initially detained while officers searched the residence, but after a thorough search of both the area and home, officers couldn’t find any evidence of shots fired.

Two people were, however, arrested on outstanding warrants, according to Buis.
