Kimberly Newell of Burnaby did not give up a goal at her first-ever Hockey Canada under-18 women's selection camp.

The 16-year-old Burnaby Winter Club product saw action in two of three games at the national team camp in Rockland, Ont. last weekend.

Newell came on midway through the second period and blanked Team Red the rest of the way in a 1-0 loss in the opening scrimmage on Aug. 10.

Team White rebounded in the second game, winning 3-2 in a shootout with Newell playing shutout hockey through the final period and overtime on Friday.

Despite it all, Newell, the youngest of four goalies in camp, failed to make the final 22-player roster named Monday that will play Team U.S.A. this weekend.
