Sixty per cent of Burnaby children aged 5-11 have received first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Almost 30% of children aged 5-11 have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Burnaby now holds one of the highest vaccination rates for children aged 5-11 who have received their first dose COVID-19 vaccine. 

According to the vaccine coverage process by local health authority, released by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Burnaby holds a rate of 60% which is tied with New Westminster for the highest in Fraser Health.

  • New Westminster - 60%
  • Burnaby - 60%
  • Tri-Cities - 57%
  • South Surrey/White Rock - 57%
  • Delta - 57%
  • Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows - 48%
  • Langley - 45%
  • Surrey - 43%
  • Chilliwack - 35%
  • Agassiz/Harrison - 35%
  • Abbotsford - 33%
  • Mission - 31%
  • Hope - 27%

The Central Coast, located in Vancouver Coastal Health, continues to have the highest percentage in B.C. at 76%.
