Earlier this week, a train conductor was announced as having won $500,000 in the lottery – he said he wasn’t quitting his day job.

Fair enough, but yawn.

But on Friday night, a single B.C. ticket - bought in Vancouver - won the $10-million Lotto Max jackpot, which means the winner doesn’t have to share any of it if they don’t want to.

So, time to go to Vegas, baby. I don’t encourage gambling for regular folks, but when you win $10 million smackeroos, it’s OK to go to Vegas and risk blowing some of it.

After all, you can afford it.

And Vegas is fun. Like, really fun, especially when you have $10 million and can get a suite and eat at all of the best restaurants.

C’mon, you’ve earned it. You’ve worked hard all of your life. The kid’s college fund can wait. Blow off some steam for a few days. Be a little reckless.

Then come home and “take care of your family” and do all the other boring stuff, like renovating your home. Or buying a new one, which you can actually do now in Vancouver.
