Spectacular light show dazzles Vancouver street to support local hospital (PHOTOS)

The new Selfie Station is the perfect spot for a holiday photo with friends and family! 📸🎄❄

A breathtaking light display recently went live in Vancouver, giving locals a great place to take photos this winter at the same time supporting healthcare workers.

The St. Paul’s Foundation’s Lights of Hope display at St. Paul’s Hospital was switched on earlier this week at St. Paul’s Hospital on Burrard Street. The annual fundraising campaign is now in its 24th year and features 4,000 feet of sparkling lights and hundreds of shining stars. The display will illuminate Burrard nightly until Jan. 7, 2022.

“We are so tremendously grateful for the generosity of our community over the past 23 years,” said Dick Vollet, President and CEO, St. Paul’s Foundation. “The last 18 months has highlighted the enormous importance of health care, with our frontline teams working tirelessly to provide the best patient and resident care possible. We are touched by the ongoing support of our donors during these exceptionally challenging times.”

To date, Lights of Hope has been able to raise over $43.5 million for St. Paul’s Hospital. Those donations allow St. Paul’s Foundation to fund urgently needed equipment, life-saving research, community programs, and other essential services according to a release from the foundation.

This year the display also offers the perfect spot for a holiday photo with friends and family: a brand-new selfie station. Also part of the display is the Living Light, an interactive art piece that shines brightly with donations.

For more information on how to enjoy the lights safely in accordance with Provincial Health Orders, you can check out Lights of Hope’s website.
