Burnaby RCMP are investigating after someone torched a stolen car in a Burnaby resident’s driveway.
Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, police and firefighters were called to the 7000 block of Hillview Street after residents in the area noticed someone ditching a car in one of the driveways. The suspects set the car on fire and fled.
The fire, which was extinguished by Burnaby firefighters, destroyed the car beyond repair. Investigators have determined the vehicle was reported stolen in Vancouver on Aug. 16 and are now trying to track down its owner, according to Burnaby RCMP.
