Burnaby Mounties are urging women to be extra cautious at night.
Since Sept. 18 there have been three reported incidents where women walking in the area of Government Street and Lougheed Highway were grabbed by a masked man. Each incident took place sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight, and in all cases the woman either resisted or screamed, spooking the suspect who then fled on foot, according to a Burnaby RCMP media release.
Police described the suspect as 5-3 to 5-9 with a slim build. In each incident, the man was wearing dark clothing – possibly a hoodie – and a black mask over his face.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 604-294-7922.
