A powerful windstorm has knocked out power to an estimated 1,400 Burnaby residents.
BC Hydro has tweeted out that crews are headed to Burnaby to restore power to an area west of Lougheed Town Centre. (See the attached graphic.)
Power outages are being felt across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island as winds are knocking down trees.
TransLink reported that the Expo Line is experiencing delays throughout the system due to debris being on the tracks.
Highway 1 in Abbotsford is at a standstill in both directions this afternoon.
