Burnaby parents should receive retroactive report cards next week, following a Labour Relations Board forcing teachers to issue them despite the ongoing labour dispute.
"I can tell you that a lot of our members are very angry," said Richard Storch, president of the Burnaby Teachers' Association.
The ruling, which came down on April 20, orders the B.C. Teachers' Federation to tell its members to submit marks and prepare report cards by April 27.
According to a Burnaby school district memo sent to parents, report cards will go out the week of April 30. For students in kindergarten to Grade 3, report cards will include performance scale assessments for each subject, while grades 4 to 12 will get letter grades.
Meanwhile, teachers voted in support of their latest job action plan, which includes a public campaign against the provincial government's Bill 22, also known as the Education Improvement Act.
Part of that plan includes formally withdrawing from extracurricular activities, like school plays, clubs, sports teams and field trips, although some teachers were already doing that.
Storch said teachers are keeping their options open should something happen to trigger another vote on a full-scale strike.
