SuperValu opens in Greystone Plaza

After waiting a long time, residents near Greystone Plaza in North Burnaby finally have a local grocery store again. SuperValu is opening a 14,000 square foot store at 1601 Burnwood Dr.

After waiting a long time, residents near Greystone Plaza in North Burnaby finally have a local grocery store again.

SuperValu is opening a 14,000 square foot store at 1601 Burnwood Dr. in the Greystone Plaza today, which used to house an IGA, according to a media release.

"I know many people in our community were curious about this store opening, and my team and I are excited to welcome our customers to the store," said Mike Belich, the store's franchisee, in a media release.

The store will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. offering fresh produce, meat, baked goods and deli products.

"I'm confident that our customers will be thrilled in the quality and selection of products and prices they will find," Belich said. "Our commitment to customer service means that our customers can expect an exceptional shopping experience."

Belich has 40 years of grocery experience and has spent the last 12 as a franchisee at the SuperValu Deep Cove location in North Vancouver.
