Two men suspected in a spate of Lower Mainland bank robberies were arrested in Burnaby recently.
Joseph Pouliout, 25, and Trevor Yokubouskis, 29, were arrested in Burnaby on Sept. 27 by the Surrey RCMP's robbery unit. The two now face a total of 22 robbery charges.
Pouliout is facing 14 robbery charges in relation to thirteen bank robberies and one taxicab robbery, while Yokubouskis is facing eight robbery charges in relation to eight bank robberies.
The pair, who remain in custody, are alleged to have committed the robberies during a one-month span all across the Lower Mainland and into the Okanagan.
"Surrey detachment continues to be at the forefront when it comes to spearheading such large multi-jurisdictional cases," Surrey RCMP Cpl. Drew Grainger said in a press release.
