Sex in a bowl
It's not very traditional, but this mixture of some of the most sugary delightful desserts always results in an after dinner free-for-all at our house, even after we've been stuffed with turkey.
My wife and I have made Christmas dinner for between 10 and 15 family members for at least the last 10 years or so.
When this comes out, grab a spoon and go at it - physical contact and eating directly from the serving bowl is encouraged.
You need:
One box of chocolate fudge cake mix
One bucket of Dream Whip whipped cream, or 1 litre of whipped cream and 3 tablespoons of sugar One package of instant chocolate pudding mix (the kind in a box you add several cups of milk to and beat slowly for a couple of minutes) Three to five Crispy Crunch chocolate bars
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Make up one box of chocolate fudge cake batter according to the instructions on the box. Divide batter between two nine-inch round pans. Bake in centre of the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow cake to cool.
If you are making the whipped cream, beat cream in a large bowl with hand mixer until soft peaks form. Add sugar. Continue beating until cream is stiff.
Prepare chocolate pudding as per package instructions. Refrigerate in bowl until ready to assemble.
Once your cake is cool, remove it from pan and break up into chunks and layer bottom of a large bowl.
Next, layer one inch of chocolate pudding on top of the chocolate cake and force the pudding between the chunks of cake.
Layer one inch of stiff whipped cream on top on the chocolate pudding and take one Crispy Crunch bar, crumbled, and sprinkle it over the whipped cream.
Repeat this process up to three or four times depending on the size of your bowl.
Finish the topping with whipped cream and two crumbled Crispy Crunch bars sprinkled over the top. Refrigerate until time to serve.
Enjoy!
