Tap and Barrel opens in Burnaby's Brentwood

Tap and Barrel has opened its fifth Lower Mainland location.

The plaza at the Amazing Brentwood mall is now home to a new restaurant.

Tap and Barrel opened today (April 9) at 4580 Brentwood Blvd., with a ribbon cutting attended by Mayor Mike Hurley.

Abdul Mohamed, floor manager, said the whole team is excited to welcome guests to the new restaurant.

"It's been a long time coming," Mohamed told the Burnaby NOW.

"There've been a lot of setbacks for the restaurant, but we've finally opened, and we've got a really solid team here."

The Brentwood location is the only Tap and Barrel to have three floors: lounge, dining room and rooftop patio.

The new location has seating for about 550 people.

Mohamed noted Brentwood is very central.

"It's close to downtown; it's close to Coquitlam; it's close to Surrey. People are generally pulled toward Brentwood, and I think it's a very ideal location for Tap and Barrel."

Tap and Barrel has locations in Olympic Village, Vancouver Convention Centre, Granville Island and the North Vancouver Shipyards.
