The Burnaby Girls Sparks, a soccer team of under-11 girls, was named the BMO Team of the Week on June 6.
The Sparks are the eighth team of sevento 12-year-olds from across Canada, and just the second from B.C., to be recognized as a weekly winner.
A team of the week national champion will be selected following an online poll, beginning on Aug. 13.
