The Heights Merchants Association held its 2019 Hats Off Day Parade Award Ceremony at Community Savings Credit Union to honour the parade participants who excelled in specific categories such as Best Overall Entry, Best Engagement, Best Parade Theme, Most Creative, and Best Merchant Entry. The Heights Superheroes theme was well embraced and both the participants and the community had a great time.
McGill Library and Head Waze Hair and Skin Studio were tied for Best Overall entry. Both entries stole the show with their creativity and enthusiasm. Burnaby Now also received an award for Best Engagement.
Hats Off Day attracts about 50,000 people each year for a free day of family fun that features live music, a vintage car show, delicious food and treats, and an abundance of prizes.
